DICE: Main Thing We Wanted to Add in Star Wars Battlefront II “Was Depth”

While the Star Wars Battlefront game released in 2015 by EA was in no way a bad game, some gamers felt there was more DICE could have made to make it more “meaty.” Obviously, the shooter lacking a full single-player campaign added to this complaint, but even the multiplayer component, which was the bread and butter mode of the title, could have used a bit more content. This sentiment hasn’t gone past DICE’s heads, thankfully. In an exclusive interview with PlayStation LifeStyle set to go up tomorrow, we asked DICE Creative Director Bernd Diemer, Motive Studios’ Content Producer Paola Jouyaux, and Lucasfilm’s Douglas Reilly about all things Star Wars Battlefront II. One of the things we touched asked was what did they think was missing in the first Battlefront that they wanted added in the sequel. PlayStation LifeStyle: Conversely, what do you feel was maybe missing from the first game that you wanted to add to Battlefront II? Bernd Diemer: On the gameplay side, we said, “Okay, we have the core gameplay…we’ve got it nailed.” There are things we need to improve and we want to build on, but the main thing we wanted to add was depth. Give more reasons to…

Upcoming God of War Takes Place “Well Before the First Vikings”

While not a lot of info is known about Sony Santa Monica’s upcoming God of War (God of War 4? God of War: The Reboot?), we do know now that it won’t feature vikings — contrary to what people might have expected based from the reveal. This info was confirmed by God of War Game Director Cory Barlog on Twitter when he was asked by a fan whether iconic vikings will be making an appearance in the game. @BrayanMasterui Our story takes lace in a time well before the first Vikings so I don’t see them appearing. Sorry. — Cory Barlog (@corybarlog) April 26, 2017 Barlog was also asked by fans (on Twitter) whether there’s any new God of War news, and why it’s taking so damn long. @nyrolf88 nothing wrong, games are just very big, very complicated, require constant collaboration with lots of different experts. not2worry — Cory Barlog (@corybarlog) April 19, 2017 @BlindGalo @rafagrassetti @SonySantaMonica If I had things I could say I would. Things are good and game is looking better every day! — Cory Barlog (@corybarlog) April 19, 2017 Let’s hope that we hear more God of War news READ FULL STORY AT PLAYSTATIONLIFESTYLE!

Call of Duty: WWII Reveal Trailer Gets a Lot of “Likes”

Activision officially revealed this year’s Call of Duty game — Call of Duty: WWII — over on its livestream, and so far so good, it’s being “liked” a lot. This is a huge contrast to last year’s Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare reveal where the trailer got over 460,000 dislikes in the first few days. At the time of this writing, the current reveal trailer has over 230,000 “likes” compared to just 15,000 “dislikes.” It seems people were really tired of the futuristic stuff and not the franchise altogether. This positive reaction from the dudebro, shootbang community hasn’t escaped Sledgehammer Games boss Glen Schofield. Over on Twitter, Schofield thanked fans for the positive support. Well the reveal is over. Whew! Thanks for all the positive support. This is just the beginning. — Glen Schofield (@GlenSchofield) April 26, 2017 In other CoD: WII news, a Nazi zombies co-op mode has been confirmed, and the multiplayer will have some sort of “shared social space” that’s sure to encourage more people to trash talk. Call of Duty: WII will shoot out this November 3 on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. READ FULL STORY AT PLAYSTATIONLIFESTYLE!

Report: Alien: Isolation 2 Rumors Not True

While we reported the other day that Creative Assembly might be working on a new Alien game, which people automatically assumed as Alien: Isolation 2, that’s not the case, sadly. According to a new report from Eurogamer’s sources, Creative Assembly is not working on Alien: Isolation 2. While the studio is indeed working on its next project, it won’t be an Alien game and is still years away from being finished. In addition to that, cross-referencing the credits for Creative Assembly’s latest game, Halo Wars 2, with that of Alien: Isolation’s, will reveal that the majority of the people who worked on Isolation are no longer at Creative Assembly — further adding to the veracity that the studio is not working on the horror sequel. Well, there you go, folks. Of course, there is the off-chance that Creative Assembly is working on it, but can’t announce anything at this time, or SEGA has tasked a new studio to develop the sequel, or it’s really not happening (which could be the case since it didn’t sell all that well). Once we hear anything about Alien: Isolation 2, we’ll be sure to let people know. In the meantime, go check out READ…

Night Trap Heading to PS4, Prepare for FMV Camp

[embedded content] If you’re old enough (like I am) to remember or game on a SEGA CD, then chances are you’ve tried Night Trap. If you’re not that old, or just not a fan of campy horror full-motion video (FMV) games, then you’re in luck! Night Trap is headed to the PlayStation 4! You read that right! One of the most famous FMV games will be making a return 25 years since it first launched! For those not familiar with Night Trap, it starred scantily clad teenagers who are under attack by “vampires” (using that term loosely) who want to drain their sexy necks of all that sexy blood. The player can then switch between different cameras to activate traps and stop the women from being harmed. Needless to say, it’s the type of “game” that got teenage boys all hot and bothered during the ’90s (hey, we didn’t have internet back then!). If you want to see how campy it really is, go watch the trailer above. It’s being ported by Screaming Villains and distributed by Limited Run Games for a spring 2017 release on the PS4 and Xbox One. Limited Run Games will be available on physical disc and…
