UK Sales Chart: Gravity Rush 2 Debuts in 16th, Grand Theft Auto V Repeats at #1

The first big new releases of 2017 failed to make much of an impact on the UK chart, with Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King for 3DS opening in 13th and PlayStation 4-exclusive Gravity Rush 2 debuting in 16th. For the second time this year, Grand Theft Auto V took home 1st place, fending off FIFA 17 and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare yet again. Further down the chart, Overwatch is back in the top 10 for the first time since week 45 last year. Here’s the top 20 best-selling games through retail stores in the UK for the week ending January 21, 2017 according to GfK Chart-Track: Grand Theft Auto V (down 5%) FIFA 17 (down 11%) Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare (down 34%) Battlefield 1 Watch Dogs 2 Rocket League Steep (up 3%) Forza Horizon 3 Mafia III Overwatch (up 4%) WWE 2K17 Minecraft: Xbox Edition Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King Skyrim Special Edition Pokemon Sun Gravity Rush 2 LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens Final Fantasy XV Pokemon Moon The Division With so many games coming out, do you think the top three on this week’s chart will all be new releases? Ranking The Top 20 PS4 Exclusive Games of 2017

Top 20 PS4 Exclusive Games for 2017 It is without a doubt that at E3 2016, Sony came out swinging with massive announcements, one after the other. The titles they showcased blew everybody away, so it’s no surprise that we find ourselves perched at the start of 2017 and as we look at the far reaching calendar ahead of us it is dotted, marked, circled, and underlined frequently with upcoming titles exclusive to the PS4. In fact, the odds that any one person is going to be able to play each of these titles and actually have time to fully enjoy the work that has gone into them is pretty slim, but the temptation to try is just too great when you take a closer look at what Sony has in store for us. Here are the top 20 upcoming PS4 exclusive games of 2017. 20. Pyre Kicking off our list in a huge way is Supergiant Games latest title, Pyre. Crafted with unique, slick, eye-popping graphics, Pyre sees players control a team of exiles in a mystical purgatory-like setting as you travel across worlds, competing against teams of other exiles in strategic combat. Tips For Playing Gravity Rush 2

Gravity Rush 2 is out today on PS4. I had mixed feelings about the game in general, but I do like a lot of things about it and it’s definitely more fun once you get the hang of it. To that end: some tips! Let’s do this. Watch the anime first. Sony released a short two-part animated “overture” that doesn’t exactly make Gravity Rush 2‘s story EASY to follow, but it does fill in a few blanks from the time between the first game and the second one. It’s also fun to watch, and not very long. Give it a whirl while you’re waiting for the game to download. Take your time and explore. And get gems. The most fun thing you can do in Gravity Rush 2 is simply leap around and explore the game’s many floating cities and towns. There are upgrade gems hidden in the darndest places, and it’s always worth dropping over the edge and seeing what’s underneath a given district. Relatedly… Don’t rush through the story. It’s tempting to hurry through Gravity Rush 2’s main story missions, but I found READ FULL STORY AT KOTAKU!

Gravity Rush 2’s Free Story DLC Is up to Five Hours Long, Says Director

[embedded content] As an apology for Gravity Rush 2 being delayed from December 2016 to January 2017, Game Director Keiichiro Toyama announced in October that they’d be releasing the planned story DLC for free. In an interview with Famitsu recently (translated by Gematsu), Toyama explained what you can expect from Another Story: The Ark of Time – Raven’s Choice, which lets you play as Raven, when it launches in March: It will depict what happens to ark left over at the end of the previous game and the children. At first we wanted to put it in the main story, but we decided to cut it since those who didn’t play the previous game wouldn’t understand it. Taking your time playing it will take about five hours. If you’re planning on picking up Gravity Rush 2 when it launches this week on PlayStation 4 (18th in Europe, 20th in North America), there shouldn’t be a day one update. Discussing the future of Gravity Rush, Toyama said he would want it to be something new: It’s still a blank slate, but I feel like I’ve put my all into it this time, so if I make a sequel, I want it to be something new. For example, READ FULL STORY…

Gravity Rush 2 – Everything You Need to Know

Few titles understood the PlayStation Vita quite like Gravity Rush. Japan Studio’s mind-bending adventure game was released at a time when players were still getting to grips with Sony’s flagship handheld — the gyroscope, the accelerometer, that damned rear touchpad — but by embracing said quirks, Gravity Rush became an early showcase of Vita’s capabilities, and it’s fair to say that the PlayStation faithful quickly took a shine to Kat and her astral feline, Dusty. Sony wasted no time in announcing a sequel, but it was only after the PS4 launch of Gravity Rush Remastered that the platform-holder confirmed Gravity Rush 2 to be real. There is one small caveat to the follow-up: Kat and Dusty have officially left PS Vita behind in favor of the PlayStation 4. Creating Gravity Rush 2 solely for PS4 allowed for a bigger and more ambitious title, it seems, and Sony’s own Shuhei Yoshida believes fans will understand exactly why Japan Studio skipped PS Vita come release. And so, in anticipation of its PS4 launch on January 20 (January 18 for those in Europe), we’ve scoured the four corners of the Internet — and the PSLS archives — to compile Everything You Need to…

Watch the Live Action Gravity Rush 2 Trailer

[embedded content] 2017 is shaping up to be a year filled with live action trailers for games starring adorable cats, and you won’t find any complaints about that here. Following in the footsteps of Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands, Sony has put out a new live action video promoting Gravity Rush 2. The four minute video (which you can watch embedded above) shows a student working on her graduation thesis (dealing with none other than Newton’s Law of Gravity), and dealing with a rather mischievous kitten. PlayStation LifeStyle recently reviewed the first major PlayStation 4 exclusive of 2017, and the game received a positive critique. Here’s what our own Keri Honea had to say about the gravity bending platformer: Gravity Rush 2 lacks quite a bit in the story department, even with the side missions, but the improved combat and series-unique exploration make it difficult to put the game down. Even when Kat’s flailings are incredibly annoying and detrimental, and even with the awful stealth missions, it’s even more difficult to not have fun this adventure. Previous experience isn’t required either, as Kat basically has to learn everything all over from the beginning anyway. If Gravity Rush was always a game you meant to get…
