May was not a very good month for physical game sales in the UK as sales numbers were down by 28.5% with only 818,336 games sold while revenue was down by 41% with only £24 million made. The month was decent enough for Warner Bros though as the publisher’s latest title Injustice 2 was the best-selling physical game in the UK for the month. The highly anticipated fighting game sequel was released on May 11, 2017, and enjoyed decent sales throughout the month. Landing in second place for the month of May was Bethesda’s Prey while Nintendo’s Mario Kart 8: Deluxe for the Switch sat in third, which is equally impressive given that the title is only available on a single platform. Here’s the list of best-selling physical games in the UK for May: Injustice 2 Prey Mario Kart 8: Deluxe Grand Theft Auto V FIFA 17 Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands Rocket League LEGO Worlds Overwatch The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Horizon: Zero Dawn Farpoint Gears of War Forza Horizon 3 LEGO City Undercover Resident Evil 7 Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia Dishonored 2 Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 READ FULL…

[embedded content] In the new Introducing Sub-Zero trailer, NetherRealm shows off the upcoming DLC fighter in battles against Batman, Wonder Woman, and Superman. The end of the video then confirms that he’ll arrive in July 2017. “Sub-Zero is a lethal cryomancer and leader of the reformed Lin Kuei clan,” his description says. “When Sub-Zero was younger, the Lin Kuei were corrupted and destroyed from within, staining their honor.” As for the other currently announced DLC characters, Red Hood is now available in early access to Fighter Pack 1 owners (it’s $19.99 USD). Everyone else will be able to buy him separately on June 20. Judging by the release schedule so far, this means you should expect Starfire in August. If a recent leak is any indication, some of the remaining DLC fighters for Injustice 2 include Black Manta, The Atom, and Raiden. Will you be downloading and playing as Sub-Zero next month? Injustice 2 received its first major update on June 5, courtesy of developer NetherRealm Studios. The patch largely addresses lingering bugs in the DC Comics fighter, but it also included a new indicator that notes whether online opponents are playing over wi-fi. While it may seem like a minor addition, this represents a major step forward for the genre’s netplay community, one that could also tear them in two. Playing fighting games online is always a risky proposition. Due to the frame-perfect timing needed to pull off some of the more intricate combos and punishes, even the tiniest bit of lag can mean the difference between winning and losing. There are a number of steps that folks who are serious about competing online take to try to cut back on this interference, but the easiest is simply connecting the console to the router directly instead of relying on a wireless signal. Most modern fighting games feature a general ping indicator to denote the strength of one player’s connection to another in online matches, but Injustice 2 now takes that one step further by also showing if an opponent is relying on a wireless connection. By some estimates, even those with…

During NetherRealm’s recent Watchtower stream, the game’s developers revealed that Red Hood would be released on Tuesday, June 13, but only for those who purchased either the Deluxe or Ultimate Edition of Injustice 2 or those who purchased the Fighter Pack 1 DLC. The Fighter Pack 1 DLC can be purchased for $20 and will also include Starfire and Sub-Zero from Mortal Kombat. While we already know Red Hood’s release date, there’s still no announcement on when both Starfire and Sub-Zero will make their way to the game. As for those who don’t have any of the aforementioned versions of the game or the Fighter Pack, Red Hood will be available as a stand-alone purchase for everyone else around a week after his initial release, although…
