Yooka-Laylee Dev Targeting a Big Market With the Game Including Those Who Aren’t “Time-Rich”

Playtonic Games has said that it hopes to attract a broad marketing with its upcoming platformer, Yooka-Laylee, including young gamers and those who don’t necessarily have a lot of time to pour into video games. In an interview with MCV, managing director and creative lead Gavin Price said that the studio’s main goal was to cater to its core audience who backed the game while also making it accessible to others. “Even if a young gamer can’t complete an objective in the game, they can just sit and hold the controller and run around with the characters and have fun,” he explained. Although Playtonic has ended up making Yooka-Laylee bigger than it initially planned, you don’t have to dedicate a lot of time to it. “We’ve always built the game from the ground up with content that can be accessible to someone who isn’t time-rich and who doesn’t have a lot time to spend [playing games],” says Price. “Features such as the co-op and couch multiplayer [are also aimed at] family gamers who are looking for that game where parents can perhaps play it when they’re just around [by themselves].” Playtonic says that bringing the game to retail was the right READ…

Competitive Projectile Fighting Game, Lethal League, Coming to PS4 and Xbox One

[embedded content] Dutch developer Team Reptile has announced that its competitive projectile fighting game, Lethal League, is coming to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on May 10, 2017. Released on PC in 2014, the game garnered a positive reception and sold well for the company. In a press release, Team Reptile said that its two-man studio has completely rebuilt the game for consoles and in doing so, improved online functionality and translated it into eight languages. If you aren’t familiar with Lethal League, check out a trailer above and the official description below: Lethal League is a competitive projectile fighting game where you have to hit an anti-gravity ball into the face of your opponent to win. The ball speeds up with every strike, up to explosively extreme velocities. Think dodgeball with baseball bats. Play intense local matches with friends and foes, challenge yourself in the single-player mode or battle it out online. As always the game features:– Tension building, competitive gameplay.– High performance online multiplayer.– Up to 4 players.– Mad art.– Banging beats by various artists.– No weak shit. Taiwan’s Newspaper Claims Sony is Working on a “Thinner” PS4

An article in Taiwan’s DigiTimes newspaper, which focuses on electronics and the region’s IT industry, has given birth to speculations of Sony working on yet another revision of the PlayStation 4. An article penned by Aaron Lee and Joseph Tsai this past Friday focuses on Nintendo Switch sales and makes the following statement along the way: Microsoft is also planning to release a new Xbox game console codenamed Project Scorpio and the product is expected to be announced at the E3 2017 event, targeting the year-end holiday season. Sony is expected to release a thinner version of its PlayStation 4. We’re not sure if DigiTimes is speculating something itself or if this is based on a report it received but interesting statement nonetheless. Considering the PS3 had several revisions itself, we won’t be too surprised if this is true but whether the report applies to PS4 Slim or Pro can only be guessed at the moment. We’ll update our readers when we have more info. [Source: DigiTimes via PSU] READ FULL STORY AT PLAYSTATIONLIFESTYLE!
