The XStation Is a PS4 Slim and Xbox One S Jammed Into One Console

[embedded content] While there are those who would never think of putting a PS4 and an Xbox One beside each other, there are others who are okay with having both consoles featured in their entertainment systems. But this one modder has taken the latter one step further, by combining both consoles into one. The XStation is the creation of Eddie Zarick, who also invented the PS4 Laptop, and uses parts from a PS4 Slim and an Xbox One S to combine them into a single home gaming console. The console features a single HDMI port for both halves of the consoles and users can switch between both with a press of a button. It also features single main power port for both consoles as well as separate USB ports, disc slots, and eject buttons for each. There’s also an LED indicator to show which half is currently being used, green for Xbox One and blue for PS4. You can check out the entire video showcasing the XStation above. Sony: PS4 Is the World’s Best Selling Console From 2014 Through 2016

In their latest trailer announcing the upcoming Glacier White PlayStation 4 Slim, PlayStation Europe revealed that PS4 is the world’s best selling console from 2014 through 2016, finishing at #1 in each of those years. The fine print adds, “Based on sales of all consoles from [January 1, 2014] to [December 31, 2016].” In Sony’s previous ads touting PS4 as “the world’s best selling console,” they didn’t say what time period was being measured. Since launch in November 2013, more than 53.4 million PS4 consoles have been sold, with 6.2 million of those happening between November 20, 2016 and January 1, 2017. Sony expects PS4 shipments to reach 60 million by the end of the fiscal year (March 31,2017). Back in December, an analyst suggested that lifetime Xbox One sales would fail to reach 30 million by the end of 2016, meaning PS4 could now be over 23 million units ahead. The Wii U, meanwhile, is no longer in production and finished with lifetime shipments of about 13.6 million. Do you think PS4 will be the #1 selling console in 2017 as well? Original PS4 Sales Up 360% in the UK, Xbox One S Still Ahead of PS4 Slim

Last week, several UK retailers dropped the price of the original PlayStation 4 model to £149.99, and some even came bundled with FIFA 17 or LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens. It turns out the promotion was a great idea, as GfK Chart-Track (via MCV) is reporting that original PS4 sales rose 359% week-on-week for the week ending October 1. Additionally, total PS4 hardware sales in the UK last week rose 380% week-on-week, the PS4 claimed a hardware market share of 57%, and overall PS4 sales were 55% higher than Xbox One. Looking at just the slim models for each piece of hardware though, Xbox One S sales were 24% higher than the PS4 Slim, and Xbox One S sales only dropped by 16% in the week following its strong debut. The PS4 promotion also appears to have helped FIFA 17, which sold 53% of its copies on PS4, while the Xbox One version accounted for 40% of sales. Because of how popular the original PS4 was last week, many customers were unable to get their hands on one, even after paying for it. Eurogamer received numerous emails from people last week saying they paid for the £150 bundle online at GAME, only to be refunded…
