GTA V Players Activate Secret Alien Mission via Game Files as Single-Player DLC Reports Resurface

[embedded content] Datamining group Chiliad Mystery Guru Team has managed to uncover and activate a secret alien mission in Grand Theft Auto Online through the game’s files. From what has been unearthed so far (video above), it seems to be a supply run mission involving alien eggs found near a crashed UFO. Triggering it is no easy task. According to a detailed Reddit post by the group, “much hard work” and sleepless nights went into tinkering with the game’s codes to get the mission to run and no one knows how to get it working normally. While Rockstar has made no comment and we’re not sure if this is how the final mission would have come out, it settles all those reports of the developer toying around with the concept. What’s particularly interesting, however, is that this discovery has raked up years worth of discussions surrounding the game’s single-player DLC, which reports say was shelved back in 2014. Report: Rumored L.A. Noire Remaster for PS4 Could Get PSVR Support

According to a new report from ComicBook, an L.A. Noire remaster for PlayStation 4 could be getting PlayStation VR support. Hearing the information from three separate sources related to Rockstar Games, ComicBook says VR features have been prototyped for the PS4 version of the remaster. Additionally, they say a first-person mode will be added to the remaster on all platforms, similar to how Grand Theft Auto V received a first-person mode when it came to the new consoles. Players can purchase a Bunker from the Maze Bank Foreclosures website. File this one under amazing facts that won’t surprise anyone. NPD analyst Mat Piscatella recently tweeted out that “Grand Theft Auto V is the #1 best-selling game in the US (since NPD began tracking in 1995).” Piscatella later clarified this impressive feat by stating that this wasn’t in terms of units (as Wii Sports still narrowly edges it out if you count pack-in titles), but in dollars. Take-Two CEO Says The Company Is “Undermonetizing” Its Users

Speaking at the Cowen and Company 45th Annual Technology, Media & Telecom Conference today, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick talked about, among other things, microtransactions and said that while microtransactions are important to the company, they aren’t trying to nickel-and-dime players. You can’t give stuff away for free in perpetuity; there’s no business model in that. But we’re not trying to optimise the monetiziation of everything we do to the nth degree. My concern is, if you do that, the consumer knows. They might not even know that they know, but they feel it. Think about it anecdotally–when you paid a little too much for something, even if it was something really good, it really irks you. Paying too much for something bad is even worse. Paying too much for something really good, even if you can afford it, just leaves you with a bad feeling. We don’t want our consumers to ever feel that way. Take-Two Financials: WWE 2K18 Announced, Grand Theft Auto V Reaches 80 Million Sold

Take-Two’s financial report for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2017 reveals that the company saw net revenue grow 26% year-over-year to $1.78 billion, with digital revenue up 32% to $922 million. Grand Theft Auto V, Grand Theft Auto Online, NBA 2K17, NBA 2K16, Mafia III, WWE 2K17, and Civilization VI were highlighted as the largest contributors to net revenue. Speaking with MCV, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said at least five million copies of Grand Theft Auto V were sold since February 2017, bringing the lifetime total to 80 million. After revealing that 75% of copies have been sold physically, Zelnick added, “What’s driving this is that consumers love this title and want more of it.” Looking at some of Take-Two’s other titles, WWE 2K17 has shipped roughly three million units, Mafia III has shipped more than five million units, and NBA 2K17 is nearing eight million shipped, putting it on course to become their highest-selling sports title ever.
