2017 SXSW Gaming Awards: Uncharted 4 Wins Game of the Year

At the 2017 SXSW Gaming Awards over the weekend, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End took home a number of awards, including Video Game of the Year and Excellence in Animation. In the GOTY category, it was up against Titanfall 2, Overwatch, Dishonored 2, and DOOM. Uncharted 4 Earns 8 Nominations Including GOTY for SXSW Gaming Awards

Naughty Dog’s Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End has picked up nominations in eight categories including Game of the Year in the upcoming SXSW Gaming Awards. Other than GOTY, the game was nominated for Excellence in Narrative, Excellence in Design, Most Memorable Character (Nathan Drake), Excellence in Animation, Excellence in Visual Achievement, Excellence in Technical Achievement and last but not least, Excellence in SFX. GOTY contenders include Blizzard Entertainment’s Overwatch, Arkane Studios’ Dishonored 2, id Software’s DOOM, and Respawn Entertainment’s Titanfall 2. SXSW Gaming Awards 2017 Nominees Revealed; Overwatch as Top Nominated Title

Overwatch Is the Most Nominated Title as the SXSW Gaming Awards Nominees Are Revealed With the SXSW (South by Southwest) Gaming Awards just 2 months away, the nominees have been revealed! This will be the fourth annual SXSW Festival, and as it is every year, it will be hosted in Austin, Texas. The Gaming industry takes over the SXSW Festival on March 16th, continuing until the Game Awards on March 18th, hosted by WWE Tag Team Champion Xavier Woods and gaming broadcaster OMGitsfirefoxx. The annual SXSW Festival brings together the worlds of music, film, games and the interactive arts, honoring the biggest achievements of each industry. The full list of nominees for this year’s Gaming Awards have been revealed, with over 100 nominees across the 23 different categories! There are some new categories this year as well, including Fan Creation of the Year, eSports Game of the Year and Trending Game of the Year. Overwatch leads the award nominations with 10, followed by Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End with 8. Titanfall 2 and Firewatch received 5 nomination each.
