Ghost Recon Wildlands: Next Beta Includes New Province, Acclaimed Writers Working on Narrative

[embedded content] Ubisoft has sent over an email to Ghost Recon Wildlands‘ closed beta participants, announcing that the game’s next open beta will include a new province from its open world. We don’t have a set date for the upcoming test but VG247 reports that given Ubisoft’s recent pattern with some of its other major releases, it’ll likely happen the weekend before launch. In other Ghost Recon news, the developer announced via a press release that Wildlands‘ narrative is being penned by acclaimed writers Don Winslow (The Cartel) and Shane Salerno (Avatar sequels). While Winslow has best-selling novels under his belt, Salerno is currently working with James Cameron on sequels to the critically-acclaimed Avatar. “I’ve written about drug cartels for more than twenty years and together with my writing partner Shane Salerno have brought that knowledge to the story, scenes, characters and dialogue found in Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands,” said Winslow. “I’ve been a Tom Clancy fan ever since I first read The Hunt For Red October,” added Salerno. “It was a real thrill to work on this game with the team at Ubisoft, who are incredibly passionate and committed to delivering the best gaming experience possible for fans.” Ghost…

Ghost Recon Wildlands’ Live Action Trailer Shows You How the Story Begins

[embedded content] Ubisoft has released a new live action trailer (above) for Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands, which gives us a background of the game’s story and setting. The developer said in a press release that it’ll also be live streaming a promotional live action prequel called War Within The Cartel on its Twitch channel on February 16. Here’s a synopsis: War Within the Cartel takes viewers inside the inner workings of the Santa Blanca drug cartel, controlled by the revered yet ruthless leader, El Sueño. In the aftermath of an attack on their compound, the organization’s senior leadership (Head of Security – El Muro, Head of Production – El Yayo, Head of Operations – Nidia Flores and Head of Influence – El Cardenal) seeks out a traitor within their midst to exact deadly retribution.  The action packed story culminates in the events leading up to the beginning of the game as an elite Special Forces unit, the Ghosts, is called in to dismantle the cartel. In case you can’t watch the live stream, the prequel will be made available on demand via Amazon Prime following the premiere. Live Action Ghost Recon Wildlands Trailer Stars a Cat

[embedded content] The year is still young (we’re only six days into it, after all), but Ubisoft may have just released the best trailer of 2017. Their latest promotional video, which you can watch embedded above, for Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands is a live-action video, and shows a creative solution that a sniper comes up with. In the 90-second video shows the sniper using his red dot scope to use the adorable white feline as a distraction. Watch the Ghost Recon Wildlands trailer above to find out if the soldier is successful or not. The rather funny Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands trailer ends by pointing players to the game’s official website, where players can sign up for an upcoming beta test. To sign up, players will have to login using their Ubisoft Club account, and then select which system they want to play the beta on (Xbox One, PlayStation 4 or PC). After a few clicks the painless registration process will be over and the site will tell players that “[Ubisoft] will contact you via email if you are selected for our future beta phases.” The tactical shooter was revealed at E3 2015, and was one of the most impressive games of…
